The Stanford Women's Club Volleyball Team is hosting a series of fundraising grass volleyball tournaments. The first tournament will take place on Saturday July 11th and the formats will be Unisex Reverse-Coed 2s, Men's 2s and Junior Girls' 2s.
What is UNISEX Reverse-Coed 2s?
Reverse-coed games are played on a women's height net (7'4"). Women play as usual - hitting and blocking at the net. Men, however, must hit from behind the 10-foot-line and may never block. This format levels the playing field - making the game fun for both men and women. "Unisex" simply means that a team may comprise of two women, two men or a male/female pair.
What is Junior GIRLS' 2s?
Girls (who were high school students as of Spring 2015) may register for the Junior Girls 2-on-2 division. Depending on the number of entries, the teams may be separated into upper and lower divisions (roughly corresponding to Varsity and JV level of play).
Each team will be scheduled for a minimum of 4 pool-play (round-robin) games. All players will be given the opportunity to advance to playoffs. At the end of the day, the winning team of the Random-Draw Division's Playoff Bracket will play against the winning team of the regular Reverse-Coed 2s division for the Grand Prize.
