What is Reverse-Coed?
Reverse-coed games are played on a women's regulation height net. Women play as usual - hitting and blocking at the net. Men, however, must hit from behind the 10-foot-line and may never block. This format levels the playing field - making the game fun for both men and women. Click here for Reverse-Coed Doubles Rules.
* For the 8/3 UNISEX Reverse-Coed 2s Tournament, teams may comprise of two women, two men or a male/female pair. If two women play together, both women may hit at the net. If two men play together, both men must hit from behind the 10-foot-line.
What is the Random-Draw Pool for Reverse-Coed 2s?
Players who do not have a partner can sign up as an Individual. Those players will be placed in the Random-Draw Pool where they will play with different partners for each game of pool-play. We track each player's record individually and then rank all the individual players. For playoffs, we use a Partner Selection process to form permanent teams. Starting with the highest ranked individual, that player may pick any other individual as his/her own partner for playoffs. The selection process continues down the list of ranked individuals until everyone is paired up. The random-draw players will initially in a separate playoff bracket. The winning random-draw team will then have a chance to play against the winning team of the main bracket for a chance to win the main bracket prizes.
Each team will be scheduled for a minimum of 4 pool-play (round-robin) games. All teams will advance to playoffs. Unless otherwise announced by the Tournament Director, we will use a Single-Elimination bracket for playoffs wherein each match is a single-game rally-scoring to 25 (win by 2; no cap). Teams that get eliminated need to stay one additional round to help officiate.
PRIZES will be awarded to the playoff winners of the Reverse-Coed 2s and Men's 2s divisions.
* * * INDIVIDUALS: If you wish to play but don't have a partner, please sign up for the Free Agent List. * * *
