(ARPD**) will co-host a Grass Volleyball Tournament in Alameda on Saturday, September 4th. The formats will include Reverse-Coed 2s and Men's 2s. Because the two formats will take place simultaneously, you may choose to participate in one format only. Players 13-years-old and older are welcome to participate. A parental consent form is required for participants who are minors. *A minimum of 4 teams is required for a division. ** Because we are co-hosting this event with Alameda Recreation and Parks Dept., the following rules apply: (1) alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted at the event and (2) to pre-register, simply put down a $20 deposit via the payment button below (scroll down) to reserve a spot and pay the actual entry fee by cash or check payable to "ARPD" on the event day. The $20 deposit will be refunded after the actual entry fee is received. The actual entry fee is $23-per-person for early pre-registration (by Wednesday 9/1), $26-per-person for regular pre-registration (by Friday 9/3 5pm), and $30-per-person for on-site registration. What is Reverse-Coed? Reverse-coed games are played on a women's regulation height net. Women play as usual - hitting and blocking at the net. Men, however, must hit from behind the 10-foot-line and may never block. This format levels the playing field - making the game fun for both men and women. Click here for Reverse-Coed Doubles Rules. Each team will be scheduled for a minimum of 4 pool-play (round-robin) games. All teams will advance to playoffs. Cash Prizes will be awarded to the playoff winners based on the following payout formula: for A division, $9 of each pair entry fee goes into the prize pot; for B division, $8 of each pair entry fee goes into the prize pot. Second place prizes are awarded once the prize pot for a particular division exceeds $100. *If there are sufficient entries, players will be asked to choose between A and B division. * * * INDIVIDUALS: Sign up for the Free Agent Wait List. * * * Check-In from 9:30 to 10:00am. All players must pre-register for this tournament. Refund Policy for Cancellations, Defaults, and No-Shows: If you cancel by 9/1, you will receive a full refund of the fees/deposit you paid. If you cancel by 9/3 (10:00am), you will only receive a refund of half of the fees/deposit you paid. If you cancel less than 24-hours ahead of the tournament, default by checking-in more than 20-minutes late or simply fail to show up, you will forfeit all the fees/deposit you paid. In the event of cancellation, all players currently registered at that time will receive a full refund of their paid deposits. The tournament may be canceled for various reasons including, but not limited to: inclement weather; unavailability of the facilities/site for the tournament; inadequate number of entries; schedule conflicts of the tournament organizer; etc. In the unlikely event of a tournament cancellation, all registered players will be notified.
